Malaysia is Well Prepared
According to this report, Malaysia has a well implemented standard operating procedure (SOP) in dealing with the threat of tsunami. Malaysia has set up the National Tsunami Early Warning System (SAATNM) where all of the relevant authorities will be issued warnings through SMS gateway and a Fixed Line Alert System to agencies dealing with disaster management, the public and the media within 15 minutes of receiving the data.
